I think* my first vintage board(s) was two Dell Bigfoots. I successfully made an offer to a gentleman on eBay. But then after him accepting my offer, he ghosted me for a week. He seemed to be a good guy when I was talking to him so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. After five days of hearing nothing, I spotted another Bigfoot on eBay that I bid on and won. The other gentleman then got back in touch with me, very apologetic that he'd had a rough week with his wife being ill. Both Bigfoots arrived the same day. I loved them immediately.
I loved how unnecessarily large they were. The aesthetic; the sound; the tactility of the Bamboo Blacks... Coming from mid-high end modern production boards, the Bigfoot had so much to like! I still have both. One is cleaned, lubed and linearised; still one of my favourite keyboards to use. The other is still basically untouched, boxed on my shelf.
My work colleagues get treated to a different one of my keyboards each week. Ask them and they couldn't tell you which boards of mine are what; but they all remember and speak of that Bigfoot for some reason.
