I have one sole Alps board, and I may try the wax mod. I don't think my example is particularly clean or wear free.

I tried to like it in daily use for months and months but went back to the big blue made things.

I should probably try with my ABS M1 that I put SKCL yellows in, I just need to buy the darn wax

Going to give alps another shot at winning my heart. I ordered a crusty old alps whites board.

White board showed. Similarly bindy to my black board. The tab key is in particular very bad.

It is a reveal, but I'm not sure what exactly. I have a thing for split boards and wanted something white alps to try waxing. So I overpaid for it. Seems pretty beefy like it may have a steel base plate. I think its the same thing as the link below although several times more expensive than the prices in that thread. And much more dirty!

Hello guys! My experience with the wax boil mod has been pretty good. My DTK SPK-101 (SKCM Pine White) which I recently got from China was in decent condition however the switches were pretty scratchy and bindy. After waxboiling, the binding was gone however it didn't feel that smooth. After a while, it started to break in and now it feels pretty smooth and I'm honestly pretty happy with the results as I'm typing on this board right now. I used Soy Wax which is different from what is usually recommended so I was worried that it wouldn't turn out as nice compared to if I would use parrafin wax. Fortunately, it worked like a charm for me and I was able to use this board pretty comfortably with no problems
