Hello guys! I'm making this thread as somewhere where we could discuss about modifying SKCM/L Alps. I know the Wax Mod thread exist but imo that's a whole other topic that is more suited to be gone indepth over at that seperate thread. Admittedly, I have limited experience with SKCM/L Alps with the only Alps board I own is my recently acquired DTK SPK-101 which is why I also want you guys to share your experiences too. To start off, I want to talk about spring swapping SKCM Alps. I discovered in my testing that my Kalih Box Pink spring makes the tactility of my SKCM White switches feel rounder and heavier. These springs are longer and slightly heavier than normal Alps springs but I was suprised at the amount of change that these springs made. To add to this, the Kailh Box Pink springs made the tiny tactile bump on linear/linearised Alps feel more noticable which I found very interesting. Now, they feel a bit more tactile than my Kailh Box Brown switch (which is a pretty light tactile mx mount switch) which I found to be interesting. Now, I need to do more testing in the future since I only have tested it with my spacebar switch but otherwise what I discovered is pretty interesting already and imo worthwhile for me to mention it here.
